As life gets more hectic these days I find myself out of the office with frustrated customers leaving voice mail on my office line. I’ve decided to cut the cord and go totally wireless. Since I have an iPhone this helps me greatly to increase my ability to contact and keep in contact with all my customers and suppliers. I have email access as well as texting capabilities – even my faxes come through my email! Please notice the new phone number on the front page – you can text it – how easy is that – and that can be done from att.com’s website – since I am their customer! The modern marvels of technology – even for one of the oldest industries in the land… pretty awesome huh?

I’ve just noticed that it’s been eleven years for ufes.com. I still recall when others in the industry told me to get off the computer and that foundries would never computerize communications – I guess I was visionary before my time! While ufes.com has changed a bit since it’s inception – to honor it’s birth you will notice two marks of excellence – one is our turning gears and the other is the moving logo we painstakingly created by manipulating stagnant icons into a moving gif file – sure nowadays it’d be no sweat to do – however 12 years ago while in it’s embryonic development this was cutting edge wow, so again, to honor our birth we will always keep those two emblems of our past and honor them with pride. We also honor you, the site visitor for coming to our site in search of machinery, after all this site was made for you.

Well I was very proud indeed when I learned a statistic I am about to share. I was an integral part of the supply chain that procured machinery for Clorox Company (parent company of Kingsford) for their Kingsford charcoal plants where 60% of all of the Kingsford charcoal is made! That makes me very proud to be able to state that and that I was able to be such a reliable source for Clorox, an awesome company if you ask me! Just figured I’d share I love grilling with Kingsford – my favorite is the Mesquite bricks – yummy!

Not sure how everyone else feels but DST is such a hardship on me and I’m not sure it helped much to go through it a month early either. At first I didn’t think it was a big deal – I tried to get to bed earlier – but you know good ole’ Murphy and his laws – seems everything that could’ve gone wrong to prevent me from going to bed earlier did so – right at the same time – so in fact I think I wound up going to bed later than normal. Just wanted to jump on board and send a hello for all to read. Remember if there is equipment you find yourself needing – feel free to email me your requests.I have someone looking for a couple of old (used) wooden Foundry Molds/Patterns. Either gears, pulley wheels or similar. From 12″ – 48″. He says this is for an art project. Anyone having these available please contact me.
